Book a demo

A demo is where Stratus reads your own cost data. Tell us who you are and we will arrange it.

Try the demo

The demo is the full platform on a pre-loaded sample estate — invented data, nothing of yours. Each company gets its own workspace and login.

FinOps for Azure

Cloud spend you can actually explain.

Stratus reads your cost export and tells you what the bill is really doing — which spend has no owner, where the charge stopped matching the quote, and what is removable, priced from real rates rather than a black-box estimate. Every figure traceable, every currency kept apart.

The assessment runs on a synthetic sample estate — real findings, invented data. Reading your own cost export is part of a demo.

What it finds

Three questions a cost export can actually answer.

Not a dashboard of everything. Three domains, each with a measurement behind it and an honest empty state where the data runs out.

Inform

Know whose spend is whose. Untagged and unallocated cost is the reason most budgets cannot be defended, and it is the first thing the assessment measures.

  • Tag coverage per key, by cost and by count
  • Spend with no owning account, measured not inferred
  • Every figure per currency, never summed across them

Billing

Reconcile what you were charged against what you were quoted. Gross-to-net gaps and unexplained credits are where a bill quietly stops adding up.

  • Gross↔net reconciliation against list price
  • Credits and adjustments that carry no explanation
  • Amortized view gaps that distort a monthly picture

Optimize

Removable spend, priced from real rates rather than a black-box estimate — and an Optimization Index you can recompute by hand from the two numbers underneath it.

  • Idle, oversized and orphaned resources
  • Commitment coverage on uncovered on-demand compute
  • A deterministic index: 100 × (1 − savings ÷ addressable)

How it works

Three steps, and the first one costs nothing.

Connect your cost data

Start with a sample estate — no account, nothing to upload. When you want your own numbers, point it at your export and it parses in a web worker, on your machine.

See your scorecard

Three indices, ranked findings and the spend behind each one. Per currency throughout, with an honest empty state anywhere the export cannot answer the question.

Commitment modelling, savings realization tracking, scheduled reporting and the full platform — the parts that need more than one export and a browser.

The assessment’s three promises

Three commitments, each of them testable.

No cost data leaves the browser

The assessment runs in a worker on your machine. There is no endpoint on this service that accepts a cost figure, and a test asserts zero cost-data requests on every build.

Every figure is measured, never inferred

Where the data runs out, the screen says so. Nothing is estimated to fill a gap, and no index is shown that its own inputs cannot support.

Currencies are never summed

A multi-currency estate is reported per currency. There is no pooled total, because converting without a stated rate and date would be a number nobody could check.

Eleven screens, grouped the way you work

Inform, Optimize and Operate are yours in the assessment. Two screens need the full platform — each says so plainly rather than faking a preview.

Inform — understand the bill

  • OverviewIncludedHeadline spend for every currency in your estate, each on its own.
  • Bill ExplorerIncludedYour bill by service, month by month, with cost over time.
  • Cost VarianceIncludedWhat moved between periods, measured — so a spike is a number.
  • ShowbackIncludedHow much of the bill each service explains, unallocated share included.

Optimize — find the savings

  • OptimizationIncludedThe opportunities the assessment can compute from your own export.
  • SavingsIncludedYour working savings totals up front; realised detail needs the platform.
  • CommitmentsFull platformReservation and savings-plan coverage, once rate cards connect.

Operate & report — make spend accountable

  • Cost AllocationsIncludedHow spend allocates across the estate — the base for accountability.
  • Tag ExplorerIncludedTag coverage per key and per currency, by cost and by count.
  • ReportsFull platformStored and mailed cost reports — kept off during an assessment.
  • SettingsIncludedManage your assessment workspace and preferences.

Why Stratus

Traceable beats impressive.

Most FinOps tooling asks you to trust a number. This one asks you to check it.

How Meridian Stratus compares with legacy FinOps tooling
DimensionMeridian StratusLegacy FinOps tooling
Where your cost data goesNowhere. The assessment parses and scores in your browser, and a demo reads your export in the room with you.Uploaded to a vendor tenant before you see a number.
How savings are pricedFrom published rates, with the arithmetic shown beside the figure.Black-box estimates you cannot reproduce or challenge.
The efficiency scoreDeterministic and explainable — savings over addressable spend, recomputable by hand.An opaque composite (Apptio's COIN, and scores like it) whose inputs are not published.
Multi-currency estatesScored per currency. No figure ever sums or ratios across them without a rate.Silently pooled, so a US$ rate-card saving lands against £ spend.
What happens to missing dataAn honest empty state that names what the export could not answer. An estimate presented with the same confidence as a measurement.
Access to your environmentRead-only by construction — Stratus never touches your cloud at all.Write access requested up front, to act on its own recommendations.

See what your own bill is doing.

Questions

The ones worth asking first.

Does my cost data leave my browser?

No. The sample assessment runs entirely in a web worker on your machine, and there is no endpoint on this service that accepts a cost figure — an automated test asserts zero cost-data requests on every build. Your own export is read during a demo, which is a conversation rather than an upload.

Which clouds does it support?

Azure-first today, via FOCUS-conformant and native cost exports. The engine normalises to a provider-neutral shape, so other providers are a matter of an importer rather than a rewrite — but Azure is what is proven, and claiming more than that would be the kind of thing this product exists not to do.

Does it need access to my cloud environment?

No. It reads a cost export you already have. It requests no credentials, holds no connection and takes no action in your environment — there is nothing for it to change.

Do I have to sign an NDA or talk to sales to try it?

No. The sample assessment runs with no account at all. Assessing your own export asks for a work email so the result can be tied to an organisation — that is the only gate, and it comes after you have seen what the tool does.

What is your SOC 2 posture?

Meridian Stratus, the paid platform, is the system that stores customer data and is where a compliance conversation belongs — ask us in the demo and we will show you current status and evidence rather than a badge on a marketing page. The sample assessment stores no cost data anywhere, so there is nothing of yours in scope for it.
